If changes the appearance of the dial from flat black to iridescent electric blue, and everything between, depending on the angle and intensity of the incident light. I think it's a cool feature. When I got home and put it next to my GMTii, I noticed that the date on the SubC had a slight blue tint under certain lighting. The date on my GMT is completely clear with no blue tint whatsoever.
I'm surprised the AR coating reflects blue light in certain angles. I would equate a blue color with the now outdated coating used on camera lenses and binocular optics 30+ years ago. However the manufacturer may have intentionally colors .It should deliver a more constrasty view but it shouldn’t have too much of a blue tint. Unlike other watch brands, Rolex’s coating is only lightly tinted. Check the crispness of the bezel textI finally picked up a Batman. but I noticed it doesn’t have a blue tint in the cyclops so no ARC? and the LEC confirms this.
