As per my previous thread I am looking to get a medium college YSL and I do love the gold hardware on it. However based on previous quality issues thread I am very concerned about the wear and tear of the gold hardware. For just the essentials, the medium College, or small LouLou should be fine, but if you're looking to carry a bit more then definitely the medium LouLou. Also be aware that on the medium LouLou you can't take off the strap (vs. College), and it . I have one Medium in Black/Gold and 2 Large College bags in black, one with silver and one with gold hardware. I love the size of the large. It is a great “medium” sized bag without being oversized.
Pros: Texture, baby! Plushy lambskin, quilted chevroning, chunky metal, and more! There’s a lot going on under the cover of darkness. There is a blazing huge YSL on the flap, but the pure black hardware makes it a bit less ostentatious. All the pictures online seem to only be shiny gold/silver. I tried the black ones on at my local Neiman Marcus and all the mix matelasse bags had shiny hardware. Does anyone have both the small and the medium size envelope bags? Which size do you gravitate more towards and/or get more use out of?
