Replacing the Crystal on your Speedmaster Professional is actually a somewhat simple process as long as you have the right tools for the job: Spring Bar Removal Tool Case Opener/Wrench Just picked up a Speedmaster Professional 3572.50.00 (Hesalite Sandwich) from the 90s that needs its plexiglass replaced. Can someone point me in the direction of where to purchase either a genuine Omega crystal, or an aftermarket crystal that is known to fit? Thanks!

By 2003, Omega had discontinued the reference 3572.50, and replaced it with the reference 3573.50, which swapped out the domed acrylic crystal of its predecessor for a box-shaped sapphire crystal – hence its nickname, the “Sapphire Sandwich” Speedmaster Professional. This morning I pulled the movement out and replaced the Hesalite crystal on one of my Speedmaster Professionals; it wasn't that scratched up, but I'm pretty pedantic. There aren't many DIY tutorials around (that I could find) so I did this based on what I know of the cases/movement etc.
